Good Morning World!

I awoke this morning about 3:00am my time from falling asleep on the living room couch. It was a wierd experiece because the couch is not all that comfortable. It is a "parlor" couch. You know, the kind that you have for company that you entertain in the parlor!

Well, as I made my way to the coffee pot to make me a cup, I noticed that my wife was up on her computer in the corner doing some research. So we spoke, as best I could, groggy and all, but she wanted to talk about the issues at hand.

You see, there are issues bigger than others. Yesterday was a Great day because my cousin had his first child. A little girl. It was a spot of happiness in a family on top of several tragic events. My Grandmother had called my wife earlier to announce the news but the conversation also included the current sad state of affairs for another planned event.

My Sister's Wedding!

Yes, you guessed it, my Sister and my Wife don't quite see eye to eye and my Wife has decided to take a stand and not allow the kids to participate in the wedding. My three kids are the only children out of Grand Kids. Excuse me - Were the only three and we now have four.

So as you can guess, my planned peaceful morning did not begin as such. I guess I should start from the beginning....

When things go wrong, as they always will, it never seems to be amazing each and every time. I guess the expressions that we always use like "What the F---" or "I can't believe this S---" are not so much amazement but out of frustration.

It looks like I need to change my fundamental philosopy from being one who can ride the bull of life and hang on to that of controlling and mastering the bull. For the past 40 years being a passive, adaptable person had netted me noting but small glimpses of happiness and satisfaction.

Who knows, how much longer I have in this realm of existence. 10, 15,20, or even another 40 years.

I refuse to let the world dictacte the remainder of my life!
